What a lab grown diamond ring costs, and why
Four things set the price of any diamond ring: the stone, the metal, the making, and the route it took to reach you. The first three appear on an honest quote. The fourth never does — and it is usually the reason two identical-looking rings sit lakhs apart.
We grow nothing mysterious into the number. You are paying for a certified stone, the gold it sits in at the day's rate, and the hours in the factory workshop. No distributor's cut, no counter markup, no brand advertising folded into the box. Arithmetic, not a discount.
The stones themselves cost less because nobody had to find them. A lab grown diamond is produced on a schedule rather than dug out of the ground, which is the entire reason it runs up to 60% below its mined twin — a production-cost gap, not a quality gap.
One note on names: lab created diamond rings, lab made diamond rings, lab grown — the trade uses all three. The stone does not care. The certificate, which is the part that matters, says the same thing either way.

Lab created diamond engagement rings put the budget where it is looked at — the centre stone. A halo of small stones around a modest centre reads a size bigger than the paper weight says. If the budget is fixed, drop a clarity grade before you drop the cut.
